| Sutaible | Matalic Hoppers |
| Desing For | Non Contact Level Sensing Coal Ash in Thermal Power Plants |
Coal Ash Sensors CAS does not require the use of an artificial radiation source. They make full use of the naturally occurring trace amounts of radioactive nuclide in the environment. Mounted in a fixed position, the ash sensor is able to measure changes in the strength of the gamma rays present as the quantity of ash material fluctuates.
Using patented random signal recognition technology, Coal Ash Sensors can effectively identify changes in the naturally-occurring gamma ray signals inside hoppers. CAS sensors have a dedicated signal handler that can distinguish gamma ray signature given off by the ash material from naturally-occuring gamma ray present as background noise in the environment. This provides an extremely accurate reading of the level location of the ash material present.
APPLICATION AREA:
Ash Level Sensing of ESP Hopper in Thermal Power plants
1.Fly Ash High-Level/Low-Level
Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) or filter bags are used to remove particulate matter from stack gases exhausted from burning coal. This ash is collected in hoppers under the ESP or filter. The ash must be removed before it causes the ESP to short out or damage to the filter bags.
The CAS is mounted at a point below the ESP or filter bag to indicate when the ash needs to be removed.
CAS is often used to indicate a low-ash condition when emptying.
CAS is very suitable for this abrasive and hot environment in which temperatures can reach 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Continuous Level Sensing In Fly-Ash Silos
Fly ash storage silos are used to store the fly ash removed by the ESP system. These silos are very large and hold hundreds of thousands of pounds of ash. Because the ash is very dusty and the conveying system is pneumatic, a large amount of airborne dust is created inside the silo environment. These dust clouds are so severe that they can “blind” Radar and Ultrasonic sensors. CAS-A has proven to be a reliable and accurate level measuring device for this application. It provides high sensitivity in measuring output and durability in product design
